General care

40.jpgtriangle

It is said that a jewel is eternal.

In fact, your jewel can preserve its beauty for decades if treated with care and tailored to its specific requirements. We advise that you keep your jewelry in an enclosed space, individually separated from each other. The gold, silver, platinum and precious stones - have different hardness and therefore should not be in contact in order not to damage the surface of each material, especially in case of polished surfaces.

If you have any questions please contact us.

Pearls

Pearls are organic gems, therefore they must be especially taken with care.

Pearls are particularly susceptible to damage caused by chemicals, such as hair sprays or perfumes. Therefore, you should apply all your makeup, perfume, and lacquers before putting your pearl jewelry. You should not wear your pearls in the beach nor pool.
Pearls should never be placed in automatic ultrasonic cleaning, nor cleaned with detergents. Clean your pearls with a soft dry cloth or moistened with water. If using a wet cloth, let the pearls dry before storing them.

Finally, do not store your pearls inside of plastic bags as they are vulnerable to heating and condensation; tissue paper is recommended as it allows air to circulate between the pearls.

Diamonds

The diamond is considered the highest ranked gem on the scale of hardness (10 on Mohs' scale). For this reason, diamonds can easily scratch other diamonds or other gemstones, as well as metals, requiring some extra care in their storage.
Yet diamonds can break when subjected to a strong impact. It should also be avoided strong impacts that may damage the gold mountings, leading to their loss.

The diamonds are naturally attracted to grease, however, this can be easily solved by cleaning the diamonds with warm water, non-grease soap and a very soft toothbrush. After being soaped, rinse with clean water to ensure all soap residues were removed. In the end, wipe with a soft, clean and dry cloth.

Cleanness

Daily use, as well as the use of cosmetics and other dirtiness can contribute to loss of your jewelry's brightness.

Certain gemstones require special care. Many natural gemstones such as pearls, opals and emeralds should be cleaned only with a very soft, dry and clean cloth. Monseo do not recommend the use of any polishing jewelry cloth that has already impregnated on itself cleaning or polishing agents.

It is totally recommended that the clean of your product is made by a specialist and once a year in the case of jewels that have been used regularly. We advise you to visit our boutique or one of the Monseo's retailers where you can request this service.
