Ensuring quality on precious metals
The gold used in our creations is 19.2 kt.
All Monseo jewels are marked by the Assay Office of Portugal (INCM), the official organization that performs several functions, one of which is the authentication of artifacts of precious metals. INCM assay offices are the heirs of a 125 years tradition of practice.
That warranty, given by checking the type of gold and implementation of the assay mark near by the manufacturer liability mark or equivalent, is the task of INCM, that makes use of accredited laboratories by IPAC for the latest analytical methods and high safety marks against counterfeiting. In Portugal, it is mandatory that all manufactured jewelry and traded in precious metals have at least two assay office marks: one that indicates the type of metal, and another one that represents the mark of responsibility (manufacturer or equivalent). INCM oversees and manages that two different manufacturers do not have the same hallmarking.
Their laboratories are accredited by the Portuguese Institute of Accreditation for testing of precious metal alloys according to the standard NPEN ISO / IEC 17025:2005.
